Flood? Again?
I'm sure everyone remembers the story of bishops hall flooding right after we had moved in and got settled. WELL, it seems the floods are following me, because scotty and myself had our own little flood Sunday night. When we rolled into the apt from a long drive home in POURING RAIN, (to quote Scotty, "Its like we're driving into Mordor") it was around 10:15pm. While getting everything ready for the next work day, I noticed a stream of water so innocently making its way down the wall. Seeing its end point, a kleenex box on our bookshelf, I went to feel the tissues to see if this had just started. Think again Mick! We were the proud owners of a 20lb kleenex box, holding as much water as it could haha. Anyways its all sorted out, seems a shingle got loose and was letting in some water. Fingers crossed for the next time it rains! We are just so pleased the stream of water missed my homemade scrapbook (by about 6 inches) and my computer/all the cords by about a foot!
Tonight I spent trying out a new cookie Recipe, chocolate chip oatmeal. Extremely yummy! I must go finish them up!
Oh and this is the little bunny that appeared this morning by where our car was parked. He was just relaxing in the morning sun, not too keen on letting me get close enough to take a picture tho :(. See if you can spot him!

A double feature! Food and an Apartment!

Can I keep it going?
Okay, Here we are! Another blog begins!
I need a place to put all my pictures of the new place, the soon to be new pig babies, my adventures in the kitchen, and all of our summer plans yet to come into action!
Today has been an interesting day. For all of those who don't know what I do, my official title for the summer is Telecommunications Assistant for STFX. But really, I'm a summer student who visits all the dorms and makes sure the phones are working. It is an excellent job with wonderful people! We live close enough that we can duck home for lunch as well. Scotty is also working at the TSG as the contact centre summer student.
Sooo Today! I finished up Lane Hall, which was a big project in a lonely and creaky building. I listen to audio books while cruising through the building, I duck into each room clean up the phone (so many people seem to feed their phone juice/pop and crumbs all year) test the internet jack and the phone. I have little episodes which make me laugh (singing loudly thinking I was alone, but the window was open and the people in the parking lot could hear me quite clearly singing out of tune) or being scared out of my pants ( like the time I rounded a corner with my iPod full blast and meet a custodian. We both yelped a rediculous amount)
Today I was doing my regular routine of sitting at the desk to tidy up the phone, so I plunked down onto the chair and kept going. I hit the floor with a deafening crash (its SO quiet in there that the tiniest noise sounds huge). It surprised the heck out of me, but when I looked at the chair more carefully it had been broken previously and set up to look as though it was normal. Ooh someone got me! haha but it made me laugh for the rest of the day, each time I sat down I did it A LOT more carefully (just in case).
