Threadless.com

I fell in love today. After going to this website, I'll never be the same. My love for really cool tees has been embodied in a webpage. What happens is people design unique shirts, and if enough people like them and rate them, then the website prints and sells them! If you like tees, can create or appreciate clever designs, or if you just are curious, please check it out! I became a member in a heartbeat, and I love browsing! You dont' have to be a member to browse, everyone is welcome! I think it is the best place to find the perfect christmas gift for someone! (3 months till christmas yesterday) They have them in womens, mens, kids and baby onesies!

Micks Blog Season Premiere!

Welcome Back!
I am so sorry that there has been such a large gap in my blogs, now that I am getting back into a routine I'll write more often.
I'm all settled in to my room in the new Burke. And it is beautiful. (see pictures!) It isn't anything like old burke, but now that I am used to it its not so bad. It was a shock coming back to Bishops hall and it not being home at all. :( The frosh are all amazing individuals and I can't wait to get to know them better! They are so respectful of our beautiful house, and WE HAVEN'T HAD A FIRE ALARM YET. (knock on wood furiously) Unbelievable, I know.
All of my classes are wonderful, my profs are really entertaining. For those of you who don't know, I'm taking Earth Sciences, Shakespearean English, 16th century Lit, Intellectual History of Canada, and World War One. I'm working really hard to stay ahead of all my readings so I can enjjoy the classes rather than play catch up and panick. So far so good.
I'll try to keep up the blog!
And now some pictures :)

Okay, before you tell me it's old news, I know. But it is still so funny. Creeping on facebook led me to this group, I only wish that i could have joined the group before he got the tattoo.
For those of you who have NO idea what I am talking about, please watch this clip.

MapMyRun.com

I took a couple days off from my jogging/running because my shins were really hurting me (even to go up stairs.. haha oh dear),. But this morning after doing a few simple stretches I headed back out. I am noticing that it's getting easier, and Mollie is happier. After running next to the sidewalk, my shins weren't nearly as sore this morning. whew!
Tonight I found this pretty cool site throught prevention.com, that lets me map my morning runs with the dog. It's really neat, and extrememly in depth. From recording your resting heartrate in your profile settings, to calculating when your shoes are too old and could cause injury. Here is my profile,
http://www.mapmyrun.com/user_profile?username=mickermoodles
and if you click on the links to my runs you can view them in google earth. Don't be tooo impressed, they are marathons, just 4kms on average. "something new" is one i'm going to try tomorrow morning, i'm pretty excited. I hope Mollie is up for it, we'll have to leave early so it isn't too hot out. I'm going to try to use mom's arm band for my ipod, I am sick of carrying it around when I run, I'm always worried I'll drop it.
Also, Sonny and Pika now have Catbook, so you can add them as your friends. You view it through my profile, and "view Mick's Cats" Pretty funny... i hope dogbook comes out soon!
Our house is now equipt with a 8400btu air conditioner for the upstairs... yay :) It is supposed to be quite hot out tomorrow, so I think it will get used sooner than expected!

Proud to Be Canadian

(thank goodness something interesting happened today, I feel bad not blogging very often!!)
As some of you may know, I am an ebay addict. While I don't bid on HALF the things i watch, I still am obsessed with searching through the listings. One of my purchases arrived today. Its a tshirt, with a anti-war logo on it I saw wearing during one of their rediculous "i just want world peace" interviews. I thought she was stupid, but I did like the shirt. A combo of star wars and an anti war message is jsut the sort of thing I'm into :).
THe best part of all of this was finally receiving it today in the mail. It was coming from a shop in Israel, so I knew it would be a while. There was a large lineup, so I waited patiently (desperately hoping my shirt had arrived!!! I won the bid on may 16th). When I got to the counter, the postman took my card and came back with an itty bitty parcel. He started snickering, but I didn't understand why. As he was putting it through the computer, he said "Isn't it nice to be Canadian?" And I automatically answered "Oh yeah its great...", but I really wasn't sure what he meant by it. I thought he was just being random, so I smiled back as he talked about how well canadians are thought of all around the world. As I walked out to the car, I looked down at the parcel and burst out laughing.

I suppose it IS very nice to be loved by everyone :)....
I'll post a picture of my shirt once it is out of the dryer :)!

Proper Motivation

Really the only interesting thing i've done on my day off today is cook an omlet and jog with mollie. The other stuff is boring and not blog worthy (but so mom knows i cleaned up the kitchen and reviewed the recipe for supper, soon to make muffins). Mollie usually is very sluggish on jogs, and I end up dragging her behind me which looks foolish to everyone driving by on their way to work. Today however the cool breeze and the lack of sunshine really helped her get going, and for the most part she kept up just fine. When we were in the heart of the Qs, she started stalking a little dog on the horizon. This dog turned out to be a great dane, really quite interested in us. Mollie let out a very pathedic bark, to which mister leggy replied gnashing his jaws angrily. I am not one to be afraid of big dogs, but I got goosebumps when he barked at us. Mollie put oin the jets and we sprinted past his yard, and all the way to the crosswalk. I think she could be a really fast jogger, we just need our friend running behind us. < i have a picture to attach, but blogger wont let me... :(>

Cheeeese!

Today mee and Mollie went out on our fairly daily jog (sometimes its raining, or we're too lazy). We left at 8:30, but by 9:00 i was sweating pretty bad and Mollie's tongue was practically dragging on the ground, so we turned back, and made it to needs by 9:20ish. I tied her outside, (which she really hates) and went inside. I didn't have any money with me, but I just wanted to grab a cup for of tap water. The cashier was delighted to see Mollie, and more than happy to fill one up. She brought it out to Mollie and sat with her for a few minutes. We talked dogs, she has a golden retriever. So after Mollie made a new friend, we took off for home, and ran into the little puff balls on their walk. I think mollie was too hot and too tired, she barely looked at them. (but once we were past them, keep peeking over her shoulder to make sure we weren't being followed by the ankle biters) Exciting morning for her, she's now panting down here in the cool basement.

Hair and Nails :)

SOoo I know I have left you in suspense, :) but I promise today there will be pictures posted of the new dooo. I love it, and I'm quite certain i'll be keeping it this way for a while, it's so easy to manage and feels great, not so heavy and hard to style. My fav description of it so far is Wendys, It's sassy, sophisticated, and has attitude! I also had my nails done yesterday morning, and they are now light pink tips (don't worry Chantal, no orange at the ends yet!) and an opal topcoat on it. It's taken me a day to get used to them, but now i do like them quite a bit :). Any requests for my colour in two weeks time? haha Bonnie has every colour imaginable.
WHen I'm on the other computer I'll add some pictures of my haircut!

back by popular demandddd..

Okay, so i may not be the most devoted blogger, but i am going to try to be better! I haven't been particularly busy or up to interesting things, so this will be a short one.
I've been rereading harry potter series, backwards starting with the halfblood prince, and now i'm at prisoner of azkaban at the end of it. i'll finish that today out on the deck getting some sun (but fully covered in sunscreenm mom. Don't worry!) I've been non-stop harry potter, so I am begining to see/ compare everything to if i wasn't a muggle. Lol for instance when I got my school marks back, I realized that I definately got a T (for troll) in french class, but at least I got the credit. I wondered this morning while jogging with Mollie if it would be easier to bewitch my ipod to float along next to me rather than trying to hold it in my hand with mollie's leash. *sigh* if only...
My nails are holding up well, Bonnie did an EXCELLENT job for a great price. I have an appointment with her Monday at 10am to have them refilled and get my thumb nail put on. speaking of appointments, I have a hair appointment for friday at Lolas with Cheryl, for a cut and dye,. That's right, i'm going short again, and adding some professional hair dye to the mix. I've never had my hair coloured professionally, so i am a little excited/nervous. I have a picturte of the cut i'd like, so I'm going to bring that, with a few adjustments. Ashley tells me cheryl is great, so I am like 95% excited, 5% nervous.
Work is going very well, I love the people I work with. I really enjoy my shifts, they aren't nearly as dreadful as my zellers ones. Being around diamonds all day certainly is all its cracked up to be. We've started doing counts for inventory with handhelds. I did a case of watch straps, and it went quite well i think. :) I have a shift next tuesday morning with Wendy at 7AM to reconcile all the mistakes and do physical counts of everything. yikes!
I've been using the Dove self tanning cream fo the past 4 days, and I am really impressed with how well it is working. Not only that, but my skin is SO SOFT. I'll be excited to see the results after one week!

Some upcoming events to be excited for in the next month or so (and i hope i remember to blog them):
Haircut at Lolas!
Trip to Oaklawn farm!
Nails at Bonnies! (can't decide whether to have my tips sparkly white or hot pink...)
A swim at the walkers pool?
Inventory at Peoples
A trip to Upper Clements park :)
The Tattoo In Halifax (With scoots lynds and Asif)

That is all for now! The end :)

Many days later!

Oh deary me! I can't believe I've neglected my blog so long! Since I left off last, I've been to Goosebay and back, and started a new job! Our trip to Goose was great, and very very snowy! (compared to Nova Scotia) We got to relax, eat great food and spend some time with Scotts parents! Not to mention enjoy the great views and nature around the area. Even though it is small, there are some great stores with local crafts and a really interesting interpretation centre all about the lifestyle and the history of the region!

Since I've been home (all four days so far) I've worked three shifts. I'm remembering lots, but I still have quite a bit to learn about all the styles, stones, sales and the store in general. i have a little information book to read and then I get to do a test. I've read it once through, I'll have to go over it a couple more times before I feel confident though. It's fairly interesting all about stones and carats and different types of gold etc. My first day at work I split two nails and broke one, and the next shift I broke the rest. Aarrrgg. So today I'm headed to Lolas to get nails put on. I'm excited, it'll certainly take some getting used to.

That's pretty much it for now, make sure you check out Steph's Blog, really awesome description of her trip in Mexico so far!

View from our windows...

Here are some pictures i snapped of the construction going on outside our building on the front lawn. Today they are stealing our furniture and our trees/shrubs.

Checking out the house..

Nono, not in the "hey baby, how you doin'?" way, but in the way that means they are gone for good. While I'm sad to see some of them go, the others I have to restrain myself from telling them to watch the door doesnt hit them on the way out. I'm on checkout duty until 12pm today, and then i'll do my packing... I'm putting it WAY off... mostly because i don't have the garbage bags yet. I'm going to move all my clothes in bags, as they are pretty much all dirty laundry. I'll have to clean the fishies tank, and get them prepped for travelling tomorrow. Other than that it's just putting all the junk into my suitcases. I'm on checkout duty ALL tonight and ALL tomorrow until 3, when Burke no longer exists and it get's its very own facelift.
That blessed event of getting Burke prepped for construction has already begun, with big diggy tractors on our front lawn for the past 3 days, and gravel trucks. They are building roads for the big wrecking ball to drive around I think. They have moved the dumpsters and trailers in place (at ungodly hours of the morning). Yesterday morning however was the worst noise, when they had the little stompy-foot machine in to pound all the gravel down. Like I told Steph, if i was goin to crack from exam stress, those machines and their noise would push me over the edge. We made a plan that if I snap and intended to go outside to kick the crap out of the machines (Cameron Style From Ferris Bulers Day Off), I would hand someone a camera on the way out to video tape my antics, so I could be famous on You tube.
The university movers are here today taking things out of the building like couches and chairs and tables. They are also emptying out the empty rooms in burke. I have almost gotten used to this, I wish my camera batteries were working, I'll have to rob a remote of it's batteries so I can capture whats going on.
So I am now finished exams as of 9:30pm last night. My last two exams were developmental psychology and french 110. I studied so much for the exams that I made myself insanely nervous. French I felt went decent, I think I understood enough to do alright. Psych was alright, but for a very special reason. 2 hours before our exam our prof sent us all emails telling us what we had if we got a zero on te exam, and how much we woud need on the exam to make our marks A, B,or Cs . I had a B without even writing the exam, so suddenly a great weight was lifted off my shoulders. The multiple choice were rediculously hard, but I knew all the definitions and short answers. Whatever I get on the exam will just be gravy on an already decent mark in a very hard course.
Well I must go do a checkout, ttfn!

Ghost Hunting in Gilmora

So today, after journey downtown to get coffee, Scott and I headed to Gilmora. This is where my boss Emily's office is, and the two floors above it are residential. My dearest friend megan is an RA there next year on the international floor. We both giggled about the rumors of it being haunted, but after today, I'm not going there after dark.

Gilmora hall was built in 1933, containing 3 residential floors, and the bottom floor being a recreation hall. It was constructed to house the young ladies attending Mount St. Bernards College, the sister academy to StFX. most of the students were learning to be teachers or nuns, and all the instructors were nuns.

There are TONS of creepy stories associated with it, mostly of nuns dying, old men falling down stairs, and a few suicides of young pregnant nuns.
In broad daylight we walked dow the halls, and the supposed haunted stairwell. It is so quiet, its creepy. Alot of doors are bolted shut, doors screwed into their frames, old elevator shaft boarded up. The lounge is eerie, so large and empty with a stone fireplace like in Harry Potter. Not to mention there are random full length mirrrs on the walls to freak out people walking to the bathroom at 3am. (or maybe for the ghosts to admire themselves in... ?)

To say the least we boogied outta there in a hurry. When I came back, I looked up to see if anything was on the net. and of course there is!

At Mount St. Bernard College, several odd occurrences take place. Located in Antigonish, this college has been known to have some pretty strange things happen within some of the rooms. For example, items in a room have moved on their own. On campus, there is a spiral staircase where some believe the ghost of a man will watch you as you travel up and down the stairs. An elevator has been known to move without anyone pressing the buttons. Some fear that ghosts wander up and down the hallways when no one is looking. Odd voices have been heard within the bathrooms, as well as shadows roaming throughout the area.
Screaming coming from unknown entities, as well as sighting of the apparitions of nuns have been reported to occur in the Games Room. At Gilmora Hall, the ghost of a woman who fell from the balcony is said to haunt the premises.

The arches, andto your left notice the creepy
stairwell windows.

In case Mom told you I was the biggest slob...

... I have some competition.

Well Mom, I've found the perfect example of a second floor room. I may be messy, but this will make your skin crawl. Two people actaly live in this room, they just were moving the beds out to look for something i think. Obviously they weren't cleaning because the room looks the same now a few days later.

In the second pic, be careful to notice the grime that is STUCK to the floor, not loose dirt.

Mmmm Burke, you are so dirty.

12 days till demolition time. I can't wait to see the new Bishops, it will be so nice.

Day Two of Studying

So now that classes are over, it is time for studying. I was on duty Wednesday night for last class bash. It was quite the night, and the frosh certainly had a good time. highlights of the night: trying to prevent someone from eating M&Ms off a floor covered in puke/water/balled up paper towel. (we were unsuccessful) and a fire alarm set off in basement right after shut down. So of course, the sleepy frosh were all rilled up again and it took us till at least 2:30 to get them back into their rooms and to be quiet. I'm glad that was all we had, Lane had an actual fire, and their sprinkler system went off destroying alot of personal property.
I've been studying English and Canadian history the past two days, they are my first two exams. I've been re-reading textbook chapters, novels and poems. I feel pretty good about it, i've got another 3 days until those exams though. The most trouble i've had while studying is having to shush people on my floor who aren't obeying the 22 hour quiet hours.

Yesterday on a sunny walk through town, me and scotty happened upon a pot belly pig being walked by a guy infront of TNT. IT WAS SOOO CUTE. Now, I don't have picture ofthe actual pig, but this guy looks alot like him.

Adorable I know!
Today has been less eventful, no pigs at least. I finished reading the English Patient, which was pretty good. I did see the movie first, but the book was much better. If you've got the time, its completely worth it.
I had my staff supper tonight at Boston Pizza, it was really good! I got the Crispy Chicken Pecan Salad, it was to die for. Cheese (cheddar and mozza), roasted pecans, strips of chicken, diced tomatoes, ranch dressing and some chopped egg. REALLY yummy. Emily (my RLC boss lady) bought us all appetizers, so we shared nachos, potato dollars, and spinich dip. mmm mm. Doesnt that make you hungry? Good news, tomorrow I am going out again for a staff supper, but for my BHop Staff 07-08. We are going to Pipers pub, and i think I can hear the fish and chips calling out to me. And don't worry, I will blog about it!
All for now, more later :)

Sunny Sunshine

So it was a wonderful sunny day :) thank goodness, I was scared we wouldn't see one for another week after all that snowfall! I took a walk around town with Scooter and grabbed a coffee at Timmy Hoes. We got some exercise and creeped on the townies with his digital camera, taking pics of their awesome houses!
I had my last english class thank goodness! It was very long. We are studying "The English Patient". I borrowed the DVD from my prof and watched the movie a while ago, it was really good. The novel however is REALLY long... and unfortunately it is quite different from the novel. Which means, yes, i'm going to have to read the book before the exam (in one week). eek.
The most exciting thing of my day was buying a new X memorabilia, a pendant! It was so cheap, and looks really nice. I wish I had bought one sooner on in the year. I would take a picture, but my camera is out of batteries. It looks like the face of the X ring.
Anyway, after a fairly relaxing night, I'm off to bed!

Blog numero Unnno

Okay so this is my new blog. I had one a long time ago, but to be honest, I can't remember my password or address. I tried, no luck!
This weekend I'm home for Easter with Scotty and Steph. I really needed the break, and it is so great to eat real food and have a real shower! :) We're going on less than a month before it's all over, and I'm home again working at Peoples. In that time I have five exams, a couple staff suppers, and a week long trip to Goosebay to see Scotts parents (and little jommers). I am very excited to go, I think it'll be an excellent get-away.
We played dice and Crainium, hilarious times! I think the funniest was dad acting out backseat driver, and the best was Steph humming "Hit me with your best shot".
We had our huge easter hunt, and it was so fun! I drove, Scotty navigated, Steph and Corey kept us entertained with sparkling conversation. We got to visit a lot of mom's friends from work, teachers! Jilly, Lynn Charleton, Suzanne Waholl, Pat Tamelyn aaand Chantal! It was hilarious trying to find their houses. I love the huge Easter hunts I was worried that when we get older, Easter wouldn't be as fun. How wrong I was! It just gets bigger and better since we can drive! (well, I can drive) All in all, a great easter.
Oh yes, and we got tons of snow! check out moms blog for pictures!
